My associate Erin and I went to see what Seeking Indigo on King St. was all about.  We were curious as to why they categorized the store as an “urban oasis.”  The storefront is aesthetically pleasing with great gifts from far-away lands (most with an Indian vibe).  There were great corduroy jackets for less than $90, handwoven scarves, handmade children’s clothes and even a few vintage-colored scooters for sale.  We saw an open door leading to a dark room with a Buddha and that definitely piqued our curiosity.  It seems that it is the gateway to their health and wellness center (that explains the grab-n-go organic vegan food offered in the corner of the store).  We were handed a brochure of all the services they offer including, but not limited to, hypnotherapy, anti-aging medicine and nutritional counseling, live blood cell analysis and ionic footbath.  It seems it really is an urban oasis located at 445 King St. in downtown Charleston.

Chas Comedy Fest

Our fair city of Charleston will be invaded by comedians next month and we can’t wait!  There is going to be 4 days of non-stop fun at venues like The Music Farm, The American Theatre and Theatre 99.  The likes of Kenny Zimlinghaus, Neckprov, Cats Hugging Cats, Eliza Skinner and more.  You can get a complete schedule with all of the dates, locations and times and buy tickets online.  It’s probably smart to plan in advance, as some of the venues are small and will most likely sell out!

If you think you have what it takes to make us laugh, you can join the preliminary rounds to win your spot on the first night of the festival.  Go to Charleston Comedy Festival’s homepage for more information.

Closed for Business in Charleston is not really closed for business

December 14, 2009

From the looks of it, Closed For Business is now open for business.  This is what used to be Raval, which was one of our favorite spots- for the ambiance anyway.  We hope this new “gastropub” will make us just as happy!
Closed for Business opens up this Tuesday December 15, 2009.  They’re located at 453 [...]
