Gaga enthusiasts in Marion Square
Last Friday was proclaimed “Gaga Day” in Charleston, as 2,000 people (and that’s just the confirmed guests) gathered in Marion Square Park to dance for Haitian relief. Thousands of dollars were raised, both from donations and from the selling of event t-shirts. It’s clear that Gaga was well-loved by the attendees as well, since many of them dressed up like the breakout singer of the year. Check out the full story at the Charleston City Paper and keep up the great work, Charleston!

The Charleston Parks Conservancy is hosting a variety of events to spruce up the local parks. Check out the schedule and try to go out and help them do some work at the park nearest you! The next one is going to be at Marion Square (corner of Calhoun St. and King St. downtown) on February 3rd. They’ve got events scheduled until March! Be sure to bring your pruners, garden gloves, weeder and garden bucket with you. It’s a great way to get involved in the community and also makes our city that much more beautiful!
