Moe’s Crosstown Tavern is looking to re-open on Wednesday, November 9th. We’ll keep you updated with more information as it becomes known.

If you haven’t been to Moe’s, you’re missing out (it’s been voted Best Pub Food in Charleston like five times). You first-timers will want to get an eyeopener burger.. and beer, lots and lots of beer.

Charleston Naturally, located at 918 C Lansing Drive in Mount Pleasant, has been open for less than a year and is already making tons of noise… mainly on the Internet. Sharon Harvey, owner of Naturally, has established a great space as an online retailer.

So what can you find at Charleston Naturally? Everything from organic skin care products to eco-friendly dog toys. Sharon carries distinctive gifts for your friend who is a new mother, your four-legged kid and yourself. Her organic skin care products are top of the line; she carries reputable brands like Dr. Hauschka, Suki, John Masters, ilike and Pevonia. Also, she’s got tons of organic sunscreen for those worried about daily sun damage in our bright city (made by COOLA).

The bulk of Sharon’s sales happen online at her beautifully designed online store. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, though, she and her dog Sugar Baby wouldn’t mind you stopping by!

We ran down the street when we heard the Glazed was finally open for business.  They’re going to open at 7am beginning tomorrow.  Doughnuts are about $1.75.  Here’s a preview of what you can expect: mmm, mmm, mmm. Yeah, those are the only real words I can conjure up with a mouthful of perfectly dense pumpkin doughnut topped with not-too-sweet cream cheese icing. I’ll let the photos do the talking from here on out:

I’m laying on my towel on Folly Beach with friends on Saturday, this lovely Memorial Day weekend, when a woman walks up and offers us a trash bag.  Since we already had several beach bags and an empty cooler, we politely declined.  She then said firmly, “well, be sure to pick up your trash.”  We looked around quickly and said, “oh absolutely.”  She then raised her voice at us and said that there was a cup under one of our chairs (so firmly tucked beneath a chair, by the way, that it was not in danger of being blown away).  Then she followed it with, “I don’t want to have to clean up after a bunch of tourists.”

Whoa, whoa, whoa. First of all, I’m not a tourist.  Secondly, we weren’t leaving or even thinking about leaving.  It was a beautiful day at 2pm.  I could see if we were packing up and had failed to pick up our trash, but this was a completely unwarranted criticism.

So I just wanted to say that yes, it is very important that we keep our beaches clean, but let’s also not forget to keep them nice.  We’re known for Southern hospitality and the one tourist that was with us was appalled, asking if this was “the norm.”  To be accosted by the natives?  No, ma’am, it is not.  And let’s keep it that way.

Hello [my name is] BBQ was out in Mixson a few weeks ago at the Food Truck Rodeo, but I didn’t get a chance to sample their goods, so I was very excited when they tweeted that they were serving in Marion Square this afternoon.  I trotted over there and behold!  It was delicious.  I had the two bacon BBQ tacos (for a reasonable $6.50) and an old-school IBC root beer in a bottle ($1).  The best part?  They take cards and you sign your name on an iPhone.  I felt a little like cars on the street were going to turn into Transformers as I walked back to the office, but it was just as cool.  If I haven’t yet enticed you to follow them on Twitter and find the next place they’re serving, here is a picture of my amazing lunch:

Anthropologie’s much anticipated bridal line launched a few months ago,  but today, Charleston designer Blake Vaigneur’s shoe line Rowen was featured on the site.  The iridescent slingbacks are gorgeous and only $185.  If you know any brides in the Lowcountry (or just damn stylish people), tell them to check out the fashionably feminine shoes on Anthro’s BHLDN.
