Sunday brunch
With spring comes our favorite meal: brunch. It seems like its being served everywhere these days and we couldn’t be more excited. So far, we have tried Tattooed Moose, Fuel and Triangle for Sunday Brunch. They were all amazing (even with the law forbidding the serving of ‘bottomless’ mimosas). We are excited to head over to CFB on Upper King to try their brunch menu too. Here are a few items from the menu: eggs benedict, ham benedict, oyster omelettes, banana bread, fruit and yogurt (for you health freaks), CFB fries with cheese (for your hangover) and much more. We’ll let you know how we like it!
If not, what are you waiting for?
Charleston Power Yoga is open on Upper King next door to Midtown Bar and Grille.

Borrowed from CPY's website
Power Yoga is heated, but not Bikram. The beginner class (Power One) is heated to 78-80 degrees. All other classes are about 90 degrees. It’s a small studio, so you will be sweating and detoxing like crazy!
I am completely addicted to the yoga practice here – it’s vinyasa flow (so you’re constantly moving) and you’re working every part of your body. Class offerings are at great times too. You can sign up online or just walk in. Community classes fill up FAST (we’re talking 20 mins. before the start time), but they’re free (Fridays at 4pm).
So if you’re in the mood to sweat and feel great, check out CPY.

Sugarland, the award-winning Country music duo, is headed to Charleston on their The Incredible Machine tour. Tickets are still available for $55 + fees.

Shine, at Upper King and Line, has been closed for awhile, but now we have Barsa. And apparently, Barsa has pretty sweet happy hours. Check out the TwitPic courtesy of Charleston Scene:

Is Barsa going to cure our hankerings for tapas since Chai’s is currently out of commission? We’re going to try it and let you know!

Since Callie Tein’s designs have historically done so well in the Southeast, she has decided to open a flagship store of her wedding gown line, Modern Trousseau, on King St. in our fair city.
Here’s the low down we’ve gathered so far:
The Grand Opening will be in April
Modern Trousseau will present the line at Charleston Fashion Week
They specialize in the complete couture experience
We’re the only location in South Carolina, which means an influx of beautiful brides are surely headed to the Lowcountry!
Our office is located on Upper King and we’re always looking for new restaurants to try out for lunch. So we were especially excited to hear the announcement that one of our favorite happy hours spots, O-Ku will begin serving lunch February 28th.
We haven’t seen the lunch menu yet, but we’re dreaming of the Tuna Tataki Roll, Mango Roll, and the Sugar and Spice Martinis (Friday pre-happy hour
).

This Saturday head down to Shem Creek for the 7th Annual Mardi Crawl thrown by the Lowcountry Parenthead Club. The Mardi Crawl benefits the South Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and other local charities.
The event kicks off at 12:00PM at Red’s Ice House and continues through R.B.’s Seafood Restaurant to Vickery’s Bar & Grill to Water’s Edge Restaurant to Shem Creek Bar & Grill. The day wraps back up at Red’s at 6:00PM.
Seriously, this event combines all of my favorite things; dressing up in costume, day drinking, and Jimmy Buffett. I will see you there.
Visit the Lowcountry Parrothead Club for more information on tickets.
