The Navy Yard at Noisette blends Old with New
The old Navy Yard in North Charleston opened as a dry-dock in 1909 and then served as a ship production plant through the Second World War. It is now in its third incarnation as an urban hub, a neighborhood with sustainable real estate, restaurants, office space and quaint tree-lined sidewalks. They call it Noisette and ground broke on the development in 2005. But we felt compelled to do a little feature on the place now, as it continues to be one of North Charleston’s most successful major redevelopment projects.
About Noisette:
Rising from the industrial footprint of a century-old naval base in North Charleston, South Carolina, The Navy Yard at Noisette is 340 acres of high-energy urban flavor, new commercial, retail, restaurant and office destinations, with innovative living spaces just around the corner.
More from the Web site:
The Navy Yard has a past nearly as interesting as its future. The futuristic office of today was at one time an integral part of wartime supply and success. The footsteps of thousands of sailors gives way to the buzz of a bustling new community.
Along with providing North Charleston with a much needed real estate facelift, The Navy Yard at Noisette plays host to numerous annual events, including Kulture Klash, the North Charleston Book Fair, art openings and more.
A key to the success of the The Navy Yard community lies in its promotion of the arts, performance centers and a lively appreciation for history. These elements add richness and fun to the Yard experience, and they attract people with the kind of values and perspective needed to sharpen the project’s creative edge.

Our real estate redevelopment is 310 acres on the old base called the Navy Yard at Noisette. The Noisette Project is a City revitalization project that we are a part of.
We invested our money in the master plan for the Noisette Community, 3,000 acres.
Thanks again for you blogwords.
